Socrates' View of a Classless, Apolitical Society

The traditional answer given by most Plato scholars is that Plato creates an initial, classless, apolitical, bucolic society in the second book of Republic. There's a million dollar question about whether Socrates actually thinks this is a real historical empirical possibility and my own personal view is that he doesn't. However, at least hypothetically we are given the idea that there is this society which doesn't have war but it wouldn't be called civilization in any sense that we might term it.
