The Importance of Repentance
Hosea 12 recounts the historical events from Israel's past to show how God has been faithful and Israel has been unfaithful. In another simile, Hosea states that Israel will now vanish like dew, chaff, and smoke. They will seemingly vanish as many die and many will go into exile across the Assyrian empire. Chapter 13 is a powerful reminder that God doesn't change. Though he disciplines Israel, he is also their only help.
