Scot Sond: How to ventilate a patient with cardia on mo, on veno arterial ecmo. The three indications for emo are refractory hypoxema despite optimum ventilatory management and high alvular pressures. If you don't think the patient is recoverable, meaning that this is not an acute lung injury that you think will resolve, then i wouldn't offer emo. Simily, if the person has n stage lung disease, bad c f, bad ip f, and they're not a transplant candida,  you're not thinking of abridging them transplant,. then i wouldn’t offer emo in those patients
