Freddy, the Sheriff, and the Thorns
Fiddle music always made Freddy happy, and he hoped it would be the same for his former employer. It was more difficult to play than he had any idea - Squeaky and raw and just terrible. The notes came out sharp and sour, but the sheriff seemed to love it. His toes were the first to jiggle, then his hips began to waggle, and his arms took on a new life of their own. By the time the man made it through with the dead magpie, and Freddy lowered his fiddle, the sheriff was the one who was barely recognizable.
