The Importance of Unity in the Prisoners Movement
Palestinian prisoners are a site of unity and we have so much to learn about the importance of unity in our struggle. The Palestinian prisoners turn the prison pretty much inside the university and the prison becomes a site of knowledge production. And I think the third lesson that the prisoners movement teaches us is this idea of internationalism. You know, like, you know, leaders often pen letters of camaraderie and solidarity with causes elsewhere in the world. In Palestine, just to give a kind of a more specific example, political prisoners, the struggle of political prisoners has been characterized by the practice of hunger strikes.
