The Chinese Canadians' View of the United States and Russia

The Chinese believe that the Republican Party has become obsessed with Taiwan as the hill upon which the Americans are going to die in the Pacific. And they say, we are completely surrounded by American forces in Philippines and Japan and South Korea. They're not wronged. But their view is very much that the Chinese will try and downplay any international incident because it's not in their interest at all to get involved in any conflict with the United States over Taiwan.
