The Importance of Market Activity in the Middle Ages
This is a firmly pro-pestent show. We are very concerned with peasants and what they spent their time doing. And brewing, it seems to me, has an interesting place in that broader story. I think they're not necessarily, I don't think they're literally paying each other, but it's certainly a monetized exchange. So even if you're not exchanging the funds, there is still kind of a monetized sense for what the good in question is worth.
