CHAPTER

The Future of Electric Vehicles

An electric vehicle running on coal has the fuel economy equivalent in the order of about 50 to 60 miles per gallon. The vision for electric vehicles into the future is that as the grid gets grainer, those electric cars that are already on the road will continue to get lower and lower carbon footprint. That means evs can still cause greenhouse gas omissions, but instead of at the tail pipe, it's at the power plant.
