Home Depot - A Classic Case Study
Home depot lost roughly 13 billion dollars in volume in less than two years during the financial crisis. Instead of spending capital to grow stores, we would spend capital to make the business more efficient and more productive. It was a big strategic departure from how other retailers were thinking. And so home depot is a classic example of a company that took advantage of a down turn and came out of the recession a stronger company than it was going into the recession.
