The Substance of the Criticism - Is There Any Real Art or Science?
There's no real art or science, it's not like the rhetorician has mastered some subject and is trying to teach us about it. Tragedians don't really know what they're talking about either. And yet they manipulate people's emotions to think that certain things are true anyway. So that part of the problem is it can be used for the wrong ends, right? It cold be used to persuade people of anything. But then one might also think it may just be a really poor habit of thinking this way.
