You always want to have a plan to open the door for the next interaction. One of my favorite ways to do this is to email the person or touch base with them and simply say something like, hey, so-and-so. It seems like things have picked up for you. Things have gotten busy. I completely understand. But if you're open to it, would you be willing to share the name of somebody else who might be valuable for me to speak with? The sixth thing that you can do to make networking easier is to pass three times before you shoot.
