The Right Way to Approach Information

I think there are certain assumptions we make about information that I think we should not make as a starting point. There's this term, technological determinism, for instance, which says when you add technology to a social situation, it will lead to certain kinds of solution. And I feel like we are moving towards something similar with information and even data. The way around this is to constantly have an eye on the politics of each part of how you deal with information in public policy.
