The FBI Wiretaped a Fascist, and Then the Feds Didn't.

The FBI wiretapped several of the fascists that Randy Weaver befriended. It was quite immediately obvious to them that Mr. Weaver had no plans to overthrow the government, spark a race war, or do anything more subversive than live off the land and picnic with Nazis. They saw him as the perfect guy to approach as an informant. He wasn't a true believer, and he was very poor. When other people in these wiretapped conversations would suggest committing crimes, Randy would usually say something like, we don't really go in for that stuff.
