The Effects of Monoamine Oxidase on Depression
A mayo inhibitor is an enzyme responsible for breaking down neurotransmitters. If you block this enzyme, then the level of these neurotransmitters are going to increase by default because they're not being eliminated. These high levels can have an effect on cells within the brain that are linked to or affected by depression. So as far as antidepressants go and side effects, this one is not the preferred option anymore. It's mainly going to be used if other treatments have failed,. The reason why they're risky is because how they interact with other drugs and how they interactions with certain foods.
