Is There a Long-Term Benefit?

The vast majority of patients with a positive tap test benefit from shunt surgery and the same goes for lumbar drains or lumbar infusion tests. The European MPH trials and in Symphonie II, you find that about 70% of patients improve by a score of at least one on an MRS scale. There are studies that have observed patients over a long time to see how long the benefit might last.
