Singer's arguments are persuasive and they're convincing. But man, do you get a backlash? It's like extraordinary resistance to either convince themselves or just be convinced but not admit it. In other words, I have the NFL Sunday ticket package so I can watch all the football games. And I could not honestly say that it has any kind of moral importance. Now the amount of money I spend on that, it costs like $300. Could pure hedonic value for you. So I cut that out and I could save a child's life every year. Like a whole child that's going to die will now live.

Dave and Tamler try their best to do a show without guests--we talk about moral persuasion, motivated reasoning, and whether it's legitimate to use emotionally charged rhetoric in a philosophical argument. Plus, we describe how students proceed through the "Stages-of-Singer," and Tamler finally defends himself against Dave's slanderous accusation of hypocrisy about animal welfare.
