The Restorative Model of Justice
The restorative model is based upon the principle that when a crime occurs, it's not just a matter of an individual who is responsible for wrongdoing. It recognizes that when there is wrongdoing, there is a sort of rip in the social thread that needs to be repaired socially. And part of that healing is being empowered or given the opportunity to have a direct role in rehabilitating the perpetrator.
