You should apply when you're ready, says Sharam. Some people will be ready to apply while they're still in their third year of a law degree. If you feel it's too early, you can wait. And I don't think that waiting an extra year and developing some relevant experience is the answer. But if you become a barrister, you should be a barrister for the rest of your life - unless you do something different.
