The Language of Violence
The concept of oppression and the concept of violence have certainly experienced a lot of concept creep. I think it's called inflation. Include things that weren't traditionally called violence. We do this though in ethical debates, like over whether it's okay to eat animals or whether abortion's okay or whether euthanasia's okay. Now the big words are violent, hard bigotry, racism, sexist, transphobic. Discrimination.
