The Importance of Social Conservatism in the US
I wondered if Irish people brought this social conservatism that shaped life in Ireland to the US. However, Leanne explained that these values were already integral to US society at the time. They line up again in very similar ways with a lot of the sort of attitudes back in Ireland about women and about unmarried mothers. But I think it's more a meeting of ideals rather than a kind of somehow that they necessarily explored.
