The First Amendment Protects Political Speech From Doxing
Former President Donald Trump is accused of doxing a political opponent on social media. CNN's John Sutter says there has never been a case exactly like this, and it could be difficult to prove. He says the legal standard for whether doxing is a carve out from the First Amendment is the very same standard we were talking about with respect to countermen: A true threat standard. But he adds that you would have to prove that what former President Trump did was reckless,. which I think that you probably could.
