The Impossibility of a Six Month Pause in AI Technology
I think we need to regulate it, for sure. And I think the people who, you know, signed the letter saying we should have a six month pause, I am with them in terms of the concerns that they raise which are extremely valid and scary. The ability to actually pause it is sort of, it's not clear what that means, but in a competitive environment, if everyone says, okay, let's, you know,. everybody go home and we're all gonna take the weekend off. Nobody practiced for the track meet on Monday morning. There's no way you can stop them from advancing during the so-called hiatus. Even if we in the US all agreed to do that
