Carbon credits could be a key tool in reversing climate change by allowing us to reduce and remove carbon missions faster and less expensively. Offsetting is the way for hard to abate sectors such as the aviation industry to contribute to global de carbonization while continuing to operate. But who decides how many tons of equivalent c o two a project reduces, and who makes sure that a carbon credit isn't used twice? How can we say we've avoided omissions? Who knows what would have happened under normal circumstances? To answer these questions, we're going to need to shift gears a bit. It's like a whole week's worth of sesame street.
