The Public Interest in Jailing a Mother of Three Children
The judge received a letter from a number of the leading medical bodies in the United Kingdom dealing with gynecology and obstetrics. "What is the public interest in a custodial sentence for a mother of three children?" he asked. The majority of public opinion is with pro-choice, but there are no sentencing guidelines for this case. 'I think you're right to say that there's a systemic question about here'
