The Role of Stars in the Evolution of MongoDB

MongoDB's first thousand stars were a big, big moment for the company. The thresholds of 1000, 5000 and 10,000 still apply to some extent. There are projects that have been around so long now that they've got tens of thousands of stars. But I do think it's even when you're a developer grabbing a new tool, like, if you see something that has under under 100 stars, you're like, ah, this probably isn't stable enough or used enough for me to really depend on it.
