Anonymous accounts have a weird privilege in that they can do that without feeling as if their reputation is at risk. It lets them probe things that my main account or your account can't get at without having a really shitty day afterwards. I think there's good and bad parts of it. And i follow just as many anonymous accounts as i do named accounts, like they're everywhere. If they're really useful, it helps me focus more on what they're saying then what identity sayin. On the flip side, there's a sort of other movement that's happening right now that seems to be your reputation as social capital should be this thing that's actually financially capitalized us crypto or something.
In this episode of Infinite Loops we speak with Johnny Nelson, @generativist, on the state of Social Media and the Internet. We discuss about:
- Managing your attention
- Algorithms: Good or bad?
- Censorship on social media
- What will make people adopt a new social platform?
- Is history an accurate predictor of the future?
- And a LOT more!
