One is the blank slate idea, tabula rossa, right? Where we're just a blank slate and based on whatever influences come to us,. That's how were ganenda the other is the flawed nature of humanity, which comes from calvinist protestant christianity. The third view is: We are innate good and whole and pure; underneath all the noise, our being is actually has propensities towards compassion or altruistic behavior.
