After an hour of this we'd had enough. Only he stumbled off to the can and we started making plans. Not to kill him but give him a butt kicking he'd never forget. The beating went on for about five minutes. When we were done, we flipped him over and he was still breathing. In our drug-addled minds we thought it was so funny to leave him out in the middle of nowhere. So we leaned his battered body against the tree and left him there. We weren't sure if the beating would be enough to stop the kid from coming around. If I didn't at least tell someone what happened, I would soon go mad. And telling my wife isn
