At the beginning on the wanderer, first sectionof book three, he's going back home. He said to his heart, i am not like the plains, and it seems i cannot sit still for long. In the end, one experiences only one self. The time is gone when mere accidents could still happen to me. But what could still come to me now that it was not mine already? What returns, what finally comes home to me, is my own self.
