The Importance of Moral Discrimination in Early Fiction
The novel is a story about a social milieu that doesn't fit the kind of middle class distinction between public and private divisions. And therefore, I think doesn’t fit the way that we kind of have constructed notions of moral discrimination and subjective feeling depending on that division. So when I started thinking about what abortion stories say about abortion, if you see what I mean, I wanted to start from there. If fiction is where women have learned to have appropriate discriminating thoughts about experience, does that narrow what can be said about abortion?
