The Philosophy of Science Fiction

In the US, almost no high school students have philosophy classes available to them. It's often only through science fiction films and stories that teenagers are having really any access to what we would traditionally think of as philosophical questions unless they're religious. So I think the way that a lot of American teenagers are thinking about these bigger questions in life is through science fiction. For many adults for whom science fiction provides a way of thinking about philosophical questions.
