Epigenetics: An Introduction – Dr Nessa Carey

The Weekend University

CHAPTER

Bruce Lipton and the Rett Syndrome

Nez: We find in certain cancers, so there are certain types of cancer where what has happened is the patient's DNA has mutated. So you can have a genetic mutation where the final disease is mediated through epigenetic mechanisms. And actually when that happens, what you try to do is create a drug to change the epigenetic process that's going wrong rather than trying to reverse the genetic mutation. Nez: Well, Nez, that's all we've got time for. I just want to say thank you so much for a brilliant presentation. Mauryan Denleis will be back now at one o'clock with our second talk from MauryanDenleis.
