Leonardo's Mona Lisa
Of Leonardo's thousands of sketches and drawings, there is not a single study for the Mona Lisa. In 1516, the year after the mechanical line is presented to Francis I, Leonardo's patron dies. He stays in France for three years, from 1516 until 1519. It's there that the great artist dies as legend has it in the arms of the king himself.
