I was in the peak of my playing career. I'd been vice captain for three years behind Richie McCorre, our captain. The day before the last round Robin game from the coaches to say, Richie's head to pull out, can you captain the all blacks? And I'm like, absolutely. This is a dream straight on the phone to my father. It was quite a proud moment. Shoulders were back, speaking with real sort of happiness and pride. So it's just part of my DNA who I am. You never get a heater yourself or think that you're better than you are.
