The Royal Council of Finance

The assembly of notables led to the revival of the council as a real institution. The dea being that the royal finances needed broader oversight than had been provided by the previous string of secretive and despotic controllers general. After their showdown with or mopu back in the early 17 seventies, they now recognized this as a golden opportunity to get the upper hand on the king of the leaders inside the parliament.
