The Democratic Party's Dilemma

When Carter refused to bomb Iran roughly in 1979-80, that became liability for the Democratic Party. So they went back to not even supporting their own warmongers, but in effect, cheering for Reagan all of his eight years in power. They didn't really seem to be running campaigns against Reagan. They were just going along with him. I would say they were more confused in a way they aren't at all now.
