John McNaughton's Wild Things is a really smart noir hiding inside of a trashy, like softcore, Cinemax film. The end credits go backwards and showing you how the whole thing gets set up. It doesn't get the credit for the genius stuff that it does. A great film has got to feel like you've done some work.
