The Importance of Parenting
Ruth is an ongoing threat for a long time. They live in the house with this guy, Buddy, who walks around with one of those oxygen tanks. And here's this very visible presence of how close death is. If their lies are a stake, then the parents' natural instinct is to protect them. But in this particular case, that doesn't mean by protecting them by bullshittingThey're also kind of, I mean, especially Marty and we see it developed down into further series, kind of doing a bit of additional parenting with Ruth, who's also very young and living quite a dangerous life.
