Tommy's wife, doctor elizabeth nance, is also a faculty member at the university of washington. Her work includes culturing slices of live brain tissue from rodents, humans, primates and now ferrets. She hopes to track macoleal changes that could help predict which air is the brain will be most injured and or may respond to a given treatment.
