The Story of Port Chicago
Betty fordan was one of the first black women to work in America's war effort. She and her husband were shocked when they heard about an explosion at port chicago, 20 miles from their home. 320 people died after a group of surviving sailors refused to load ships because they said it wasn't safe. This led to the largest naval mutiny in U.S. history.
