How to Tell if You're Over 13
Congress passed a law in 1998 that said you have to be over 18 or over the age of 13 to get any data collected. Back then, we didn't know how big data collection was going to end up being,. And this is why when you go on certain websites, you have to check a box that says, hey, are you over 13? That's all you have to do. You're checking a box, which is a way for the company that's running that website to cover their ass.
