The Mistake That Club Players Make of Studying Openings

Club players make the mistake of studying openings to the detriment of other areas of the game. If you can beat someone in the opening, you don't have to play the middle game or the end game. A lot of people also feel like, psychologically, if they get off to a bad start in the game, they get tortured for it. It's important to know a fairly good amount about openings, but unless you're a professional chess player, where the whole game might decide on who gets a smight advantage out of move 26, very unlikely that that will doside the game for you.
