When I was a kid, the music that my dad would put on for me to play drums along to is like a big part of my musical language in terms of harmony. There's not a whole lot of gospel music going on really in Norway and definitely wasn't at the time. My dad sort of wanted to bring that culture more so to Norway. And he started a festival, like a gospel festival, where he would bring American gospel artists to Norway.
