The First Union to Vote on a New Labor Deal Shot It Down
America's railroad workers had been in negotiations with railroad companies for a couple of years now on a new labor deal. But they couldn't come to an agreement and there was a brewing strike that would have started on September 16th. The first union to vote on the new deal shot it down Monday, about 60% opposed to 40% in favor. Now two more rail unions are expected to hold ratification votes this week.
