The Importance of Meditation

When I sit down to meditate and I have a particularly restless mind, I will do a few things to settle into that meditation. You can do this anytime, but acknowledge the thoughts. There's something that occurs when we focus on the peripheral vision that soothes the amygdala. We tend to be looking at some single focal point off in the phone. And what this does is it activates our hunter systems. When you're locked onto a single focal point, the peripherals get dull and the center of our vision is enhanced.
