The 1099 employment is new to us so we're looking for advice on how best to utilize this income and pay minimal taxes. If she works as a W two we're able to put essentially all of it in our 401k. Do we owe any self employment tax or other taxes or have to pay the IRS quarterly? Can we contribute the whole amount of her biweekly paycheck every two weeks do we leave it all in cash and then contribute a certain amount at the end of the year. Is there anything else we can do to take advantage of this like deduct to home office one room of our house.
