Deafra research shows that if you shift 10% of journeys on domestic flights to rail, only 10%, you'll save 17% of the UK's total household emissions. Flights are also taxed less by the government, which baffles me. I really think the government can change that today if they wanted to,. make rail tickets, have less tax on them than the flight ticket does.
