The Brown Bess and the Baker Rifle
The Brown Bess was a standard issue musket. It's not a rifle because the barrel isn't rifled. And the rifle gives you greater range and accuracy. So these muskets are, you know, you don't really want to be faring much more than about sort of 50 yards tops. They'd serve them right. But until technology moves up, you know,. you stick with what you've got because it works. That comes into the Napoleonic period. And that's an original bugle of the 95th rifles. The rifles always have the bugles, don't they, as they're symbol today?
