The Different Expectations for Romantic Partners and Friendships

As we mature, friendships change with natural maturation. I'm definitely not the same person that I was, but I've matured a lot from when I was an adolescent. Our sense of self changes and then sort of our needs, okay? What we are needing from people and how we spend our time changes so much in early adulthood into later adulthood. We may explore different facets about our personality and our self, and our friends just might not be where we are, and that's okay. If we have a friendship built on really deep, mutual respect and affection, it's more likely to last through these fluctuations and ebbs and flows.
