The Flight Simulator's Flight to Antarctica
The crew was given permission from Max Center to descend from 10,000 feet to 2,000 feet on a heading of 180 grid and proceed visually in a McMurdo. However, the aircraft descended to 8,600 feet and turned to a heading of 375 degrees grid. And on this heading, it descended to 5,700 feet. Shortly after reaching 1,500 feet, the aircraft's ground proximity warning system sounded. The captain called for a go-around power and pulled back in the controls to climb, but it was too late. All 257 people on board were killed.
